Does catfish need to be thawed before cooking?!

Question: Does catfish need to be thawed before cooking!?
Answers:
Not if it is deep fat fried - as in small sized coated nuggets!. Restaurants deep fat fry things frozen all the time (shrimp, onion rings, chicken tenders, fish filet's and french fries)!.

Ideally, to be on the food poisoning safe side - any frozen meat should be thawed out in the refrigerator prior to cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1) not, if the fish is fresh

2) yes, if it is frozen

3) regardless, it must be clean properly with salt and cold water to reduce the off flavor odor

4) not only thawed, but should be dried if fried (with paper towels)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
