Cakes or brownies turn out to be either too soft, often uncooked in parts or too hard like yours in a microwave!.
Many of us have experienced this and hence I suggest not to bake these items in a microwave!. Use the normal oven or a convection microwave!. If you possess only a standard microwave, my suggestion is to microwave them for a lesser time!. At least undercooked brownies can be cooked further! You probably know how to check by putting in a knife and seeing whether it comes out clean!. But if majority of them are cooked and just a little patch (often the central) is undercooked, do not bake further!
I myself found out just the right timing and temp!. for the brownies to cook by trial and error!. If you are curious that's because microwaves cook food outside-in ie!. you'll many a times notice the inner portion too be slightly less cooked than the outer one!. This flaw is corrected in a convection microwave oven and you get the usual desired browning effect in cakes or brownies for that matter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
