How do I tell if the rice I cooked got buggy or bad?!
I had white rice kept securely in it's original bag and cooked it tonight!. The rice looked fine, but as I am cooking it, I noticed a few of the rice pieces looked similar to bugs (not to be gross, but there were a few grains that were white but had a pale yellow head)!. Are those worms or food maggots or just certain irregular rice grains!?
How do I tell if it's ok to eat, or should I throw it away at once!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, those were probably small bugs that you found in your rice!. It is useful to keep rice in a large glass or plastic container with a secure lid to avoid future bugs!. It's important to wash/rinse the rice with water before you cook it, too!. Place the rice in a pot, run it under cold water, move the rice around with your fingers, and then pour the water out!. Again run the rice under some cold water, rinse, and repeat!. Our family usually does this three or four times!. You'll find that the rinsing gets rid of bugs, random little pebbles, rice husks, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
All of the cooked grains of rice should have been uniformly white in appearance and without any "heads"!.
