If you want to make a really good pizza from scratch, then you need more than just a good recipe!. I started making pizza about 2 months ago, and tried pre-made crusts, then pre-made dough, then pre-mix, then all purpose flour, you name it!.
There are loads of websites that provide recipes, but unfortunately making a really good pizza is not like making a toasted sandwich or hot dog - it isn't really a fast food!. I learned that for the first time when I tried using the guidelines at http://www!.the-pizza-gourmet!.com !. Making the dough properly takes a bit of time, but it is actually good fun, especially if you have kids!
In short, follow the guidelines on that website (they have some good recipes too) - I don't think they would appreciate me copying their content here! It was only after following them that I made my first "true" pizza, and now I make every week, and each one is better!.
also, use good ingredients, such as King Arthur bread flour, bottled water, and active dry yeast - it makes all the difference!. Using all purpose flour or rapid-rise yeast will scupper your efforts!.
Personally, I would encourage you to do it properly: nothing tastes quite as good as a well made home-made pizza, especially when you have done everything yourself!. And it really is not so hard!. The dough takes a bit of time and effort, but it is also the key to having a proper pizza rather than soggy matzos with tomato and cheese!.
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your choices are pre-cooked crust, or pre-made dough!.
Otherwise, you have to make your own dough, takes time!.
The yeast has to be started, the dough has to rise, then
you have to punch it down & let it rise again!.
One of those kits is good for first-timers to make!.
Be sure to use the right sauce, not spaghetti sauce!.
Putting whatever you like on it, is the easy part!.
Add lots of grated mozzarella cheese!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if u must make your own dough make sure u start with king arthur flour it has the high gluten you need in pizza dough best to also use a good bottled water to mix the flour dough needs to rise for hours if you use fresh dough it has to be aleast a few hours old or it will not brown so make sure you give it enough timen to rise then a few more hours to rest its also best to let it warm up a little makes it easyer to strech out also get ya a pizza stone they work great cook around 450 degrrees no hotter or stone will crack also leave stone in oven to cool dont run under water will crack it also check pizza at about 10 minutes lift corner see how browning is comming under pie you want bottom to be cooked as the top good luck and enjoy oy pizza hut sucks this is real ny styleWww@FoodAQ@Com
Use pizza dough sold at most suppermarkets!. If you can not find you can also use frozen bread dough!. Supper markets have canned pizza sauce or you can use spaghetti sauce also!. From there the toppings are endless and use what you like!. My favorites are pepperoni, mushroom, green olives, mild yellow peppers and LOTS OF MOZZARELLA CHEESE lol!!! Bake 375 until slightly brown and cheese bubbles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If this is your first time working with dough I would suggest buying a bakery dough from your local bakery!. Allow the dough to rise at room temp for about 1 hour, then spread the dough out in a greased pizza pan and add your favorite topppings!.
I have not had much success in making my own dough- - -not that it can't be done, but it just doesn't seem to be worth the trouble!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
