Question: I had a bbq over the weekend and planning antoher one in 3 weeks I want to make different side salads!.!?
can you help me with picking new ones!? The ones I made for the bbq already are potato salad, coleslaw,broccoli salad, tortellini salad and cucumber salad!. I'm having a few of the same people over so i want them to have a different variety and not the same ones from the first bbqWww@FoodAQ@Com

Try this easy and Summer favorite:

Black Bean and Corn Salad

2 cans (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
2 cans whole kernal corn
1 jalapeno chile peppers, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons lime juice
3/4 cup bottle Italian Dressing

1!. In a large bowl, combine beans, corn, peppers, , onion, garlic, and cilantro!.
2!. In a small bowl or measuring cup, mix lime juice and dressing!. Pour over salad!. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour to allow flavors to develop!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is one of my recipes that I use often at bbq's!.

*******CORNBREAD SALAD

1 (16 ounce) package corn bread mix
10 slices bacon
1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
2 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, drained
3 tomatoes, chopped
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup chopped green onion
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 (11 ounce) cans whole kernel corn, drained

DIRECTIONS
Prepare corn bread according to package directions!. Cool, crumble, and set aside!.
Place bacon in a large deep skillet!. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown!. Drain, crumble, and set aside!.
Whisk together the dressing mix, sour cream, and mayonnaise!.
Crumble half the corn bread in the bottom of a large serving dish!. Top with half the beans!. Layer the beans with half of the tomatoes, green bell pepper, and green onions!. Sprinkle with half the cheese, corn, bacon, and the salad dressing mixture!. Repeat the layers!. Cover, and chill at least 2 hours before serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

this recipe is a really big hit at my bbqs!.
CHEESY CORN FLAKE POTATOES

1 lg!. bag frozen hash browns
1 onion, diced
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 sticks butter, melted
10 oz!. sour cream
12 oz!. grated cheddar cheese
Corn flakes
Salt & pepper

Put potatoes in the bottom of a 9"x13" pan!. Mix onion, soup, 1 stick melted butter, sour cream and cheese!. Spread on top of potatoes!. Put a layer of corn flakes on top of mixture!. Drizzle remaining butter on top!. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes!.


I usually buy the big turkey roasting pans and double the recipe, that way theres enough for everyone!

May also need to extend cooking time if starting wth frozen hashbrowns!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Garlic mushroom (greek mushroom salad) and red kidney bean salad!. also cut up little gem lettuces into 4 wedges and drizzle with ranch dressing!. Cut cucumber in half horizontally, scrape out centre and fill with seasoned cream cheese, and cut into bite sized slices!.
