Flat-leaf parsley vs. Curled parsley?!

Question: Flat-leaf parsley vs!. Curled parsley!?
I was wondering if you could replace flat-leaf parsley w/ curled in a recipe!? Only reason that I ask is b/c curled always seems to be just a decorative element tossed on your plate at a restaurant, so I wasn't sure if it was meant to be used as an herb in cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
flat leaf or Italian parsley has a light sweet herbaceous taste!. Curly leaf has very little taste!. For recipes where the flavor is important only use flat leaf!. If you make the middle eastern salad known as tabouleh it makes all the difference in the world!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Flat leaf, or Italian parsley has flat leaves as its name suggests, and many cooks prefer it for its more pronounced flavor, as it contains more essential oils than the curly leaf variety!.

Curly leaf parsley is most often used as a garnish to add color to plates of monochromatic food or to dress up seafood displays, but you can cook with it as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i use curled exclusively, i grow it in my garden!. i have never used the flat stuff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
