How long can I leave grilled shrimp out in room temperature?!

Question: How long can I leave grilled shrimp out in room temperature!?
I always feel like I have to get shrimp in the refrigerator right away!. I'm thinking of having a small get together & I want to grill them before everyone gets here!. I seem to always end up running around BBQ-ing while everyone else is socializing!. Is it okay for them to be out for a few hours!? I don't want to serve them cold either!.

Any other suggestions for finger foods that I can make ahead of time would be welcomed as well!. It's a party to view our wedding video from Hawaii & also to hand out favors & souvenirs!. Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's going to depend on people's individual sensitivities!. For example, I can eat shrimp as long as it's fresh, but leave it out for a few hours and I break out in horrible hives!.

I wouldn't chance leaving them out!.!.!.also if you have any guests who have a full blown allergy to shrimp, you cannot serve them other foods that have been cooked on the same grill as the shrimp or you'll be dialing 911!.

Shrimp cooks relatively quickly so I don't think you'll be spending too much time at the grill if you load it up, adequately spaced out, of course and just get them served as soon as they're ready which on average heat for a grill is about 5 minutes total!. I'm assuming you're going to skewer them!? Use two skewers (soaked in water for minimum 1/2 and hour) about an inch apart through the the width of the shrimp so they're stable and won't twist so they hang down between the grill grates and burn!.

The chicken pineapple skewers I made for a friend's cookout were a huge hit!. Take 1/2 cup fermented soy sauce (Kikkoman is fine), 1/4 cup dry sherry or dry white wine, 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil, 2 cloves crushed garlic, finely minced green onions, 3 tablespoons brown sugar and apinch of red pepper flakes!. Combine in a zip loc bag and add 1 1/2" cubes of chicken, seal the bag and toss (white meat is ok but don't leave it on the grill too long!. Use dark meat if you think they might stay there a while)!. You can double or triple the recipe if you need more!. If you can, midway through the marination period just give the chicken a toss for even marinating!.

Let the chicken marinate overnight and next day skewer the chicken alternating with pieces of bell pepper, cherry or grape tomatoes, chunks of onion and pineapple that have been tossed in a little canola or light olive oil and salt and pepper to taste!. Brush on the leftover marinade as they cook!.

We also did pineapple skewers for dessert!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A couple hours should be ok!. You could also make some mini bbq hot dogs in a crockpot, finger sandwiches, fruit and veggie tray!. Cookies and bars!. Good luck and have fun!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My max is 3 hrs!. for leaving food out!. Try putting bisquits into cupcake pan and press down middle and add already cooked bbq beef into each one and bakeWww@FoodAQ@Com
