i have made potato salad for over 25 years,,,Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on how many potatoes you've got in the pot to boil!. Keep enough water in the pot to cover the potatoes and use a fork to check them when they start to boil!.!.!.if the fork goes in fairly easily and comes out easily that's a good sign they're ready for potato salad! :-) Good luck hun!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Fork tender!. I prefer to steam them though!.!.they turn out better for a salad as they keep more flavor and hold less water!. If I do boil them, I always boil them in chicken broth instead of plain water!. It really makes a difference and adds so much more flavor to the salad!Www@FoodAQ@Com

depends on the size!. the basic rule to go by is when you can stick a sharp paring knife into it and there is only a little bit of resitance!. if it slides in and out too easy, it's overdone and will end up falling apart!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just stick a fork in the center of the potatoes and the fork should go though pretty easy!.eta!. time is around 20-25 min's!. depending on how big the potatoes are and if you cut them you before boiling them!.hope that helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Usually fork tender, anything over that and it will be a mushy potato salad!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Until you can put a fork in them and pull it out with little resistance (fork tender)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not too long - until they're "just" tender a little bit!.

If you over cook them they turn to mush in your potato salad -Www@FoodAQ@Com

Until they are tender when you stick them with a fork!. Don't let them get over done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
