Question: HELP! Dinner with limited resources!!?
All right, so I'm running out of things in the kitchen!. I've got to get groceries on Thursday, but until then I'm scrounging!. What can I make for dinner tonight!?

Here's what I don't have: milk, eggs, bread, meat!.

Here's what I do have: canned veggies (peas, carrots, corn), spaghetti noodles and sauce, buttermilk, bacon, onions, macaroni & cheese, canned tuna, potatoes!.

I'm hungry and I can't think of what to make! I'm trying so hard not to just drive to McDonald's!.Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
Boil the spaghetti noodles!. Pour the buttermilk in a pot and simmer uncovered until the milk thickens, add some white sugar to the milk to make it a bit sweeter!. Fry some bacon and onion together!. Mix this all together with the noodles and serve!.

Bake the several cans of corn in a greased pan in the oven with crispy bacon, fried onions and buttermilk!. Cook until nice and browned!. Probably 1 hour @ 400 degrees F!.

Make the Mac and Cheese!. Add a can of drained Tuna, some onions and some bacon!. Bake in the oven for awhile!. Serve with canned peas!.

Make baked potatoes and serve with bacon and onions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Fried bacon, crispy with sauteed onions, add to the mac and cheese, then bake in the oven to get it crunchy on top!.

Fried potatoes and onions with bacon bits, yum!.

You could heat the veggies, add some butter, lots of butter, cook the spaghetti and serve the veggies over the spaghetti, Saute the onion for added flavor and add to the veggies, serve over buttered spaghetti noodles!.

I'd cut and cook up the bacon and add it to the Mac and Cheese!.

Get some Tuna helper and milk next time at the store!. It's great with the peas and some crushed Triscuits on top!.

Or cut the potatoes into 1/2 slices boil them and then fry them with the bacon and onions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you could make stuffed baked potatoes (onion, bacon, cheese) or tuna casserole

Bake the potatoes, mash them up with the butter milk, then put cooked bacon and onion in them--mix well, top with cheese if you have some and bake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Drive to McDonalds!. Or cook the spaghetti and sauce and add tuna and veggies!. Sprinkle bacon on top!. Nevermind put the tuna and vieggies in the mac n cheese and fry the sphagheeti so it seems like bread!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mac and cheese with tuna in it!. For tommorrow add peas and bacon and enough water to help it stay moist while you microwave it!. This is a regular meal in our house!. Hope you like it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you could order a pizza or Chinese it is faster then going to the store getting the stuff you need coming back to your house and cooking it then ordering the foodWww@FoodAQ@Com

Here are some recipes:

Tuna Spaghetti
1/2 cup Chopped Green Pepper
1/2 cup Chopped Onion
Two 7 oz Cans Tuna
Two 8 oz Cans Tomato Sauce
1/2 cup Water
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/3 cup Olive Oil
1/4 tsp Pepper
1 pkg!. Thin Spaghetti

Heat oil in a large skillet!.

Add chopped green pepper and onion; sauté until tender!.

Stir in tuna fish, tomato sauce, water, salt, oregano, garlic powder, and pepper!.
Cook until thoroughly heated (5-10 minutes)!. Pour sauce over cooked spaghetti!. If desired, sprinkle with grated cheese!.

Potato Pasta Tuna Salad

6 Yukon gold potatoes
1 cup raw elbow macaroni
2 cans albacore tuna, drained and fork shredded
mayonnaise to taste
Dijon mustard to taste ( tsp or so )
salt, pepper
fresh chopped parsley to taste
1 tablespoon fine chopped red or white onion

Cook potatoes by favorite method and when cool, peel and dice!. While potatoes are cooking, cook macaroni, rinse and drain!. Combine the warm potatoes, warm macaroni, tuna, parsley, onion and combine with desired amount of mayonnaise seasoned a bit with the mustard and salt and pepper!. Serve warm or chilled!.

Note: albacore tuna gives the best flavor in this salad compared to other types of tuna Cut recipe in half if desired!.

Serves/makes 12

Tuna Salad Potatoes
4 large baking potatoes (about 2 lb/1 kg)
2 cans (each 170 g ) solid white tuna, drained
1/2 cup (125 mL) diced roasted or fresh sweet red pepper
1/4 cup (50 mL) sliced pitted black olives
1/4 cup (50 mL) light mayonnaise
1/4 cup (50 mL) light sour cream
1 stalk celery, diced
1/4 cup (50 mL) diced red onion
2 tbsp (25 mL) chopped fresh parsley
2 tbsp (25 mL) lemon juice
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper

Prick each potato several times; microwave on high, turning halfway through, until tender, about 12 minutes!.

Meanwhile, in bowl, combine tuna, red pepper, olives, mayonnaise, sour cream, celery, onion, parsley, lemon juice, salt and pepper; set aside!.

Cut X in top of each potato; squeeze to open and separate!. Mound tuna mixture onto potatoes!.

Place potatoes on rimmed baking sheet; broil 6 inches (15 cm) from heat until heated through and edges are crisp and darkened, about 5 minutes!.
