You can add some jalapenos or crushed red pepperWww@FoodAQ@Com
I only use jalepenos and their juice, to answer your question, but you have to try this instead if your spending good $$ on the avacodos and tomatoes:
This recipe ALWAYS is a hit, and its fresh and EASY and natural- perfect for anytime; I just crave this stuff sometimes and I promise it's WAAAY better than any packet mix:
4 ripened guacamoles
1/3 lg spanish onion (or 1/2 of a white onion) diced small
1/4 of 1 lemon
1 sm can jalepenos w/ carrot in juice seperate out 1 pepper and 3 carrot slices!. Reserve 1 tbsp juice and store the rest for later
1 ripe plum tomato chopped roughly
salt & fresh grnd pepper to taste (if any salt at all!)
*Mash the guacamoles to your texture preferance
*add the onion, tomato, and squeeze the juice of the lemon in!.
* slice the jalep!. peppers ( w/ gloves!!!) and add them in by taste: I like it xtra spicy, so I use the above listed quantity!. But for mild, use only the tbsp juice!. For medium add 1/2 pepper plus jc!. For med-hot add a carrot +1 tbsp jc and 1/2 pepper!. My best advice if your unsure is to take it slow- you can add ANYTHING after you taste it!.
*I like to add 1/2 tsp salt or none; usually the chips are salty, so it only needs a grind or two turn grind of pepper!.
***A good tip for using this as an appetizer or as a party spead is to fry up your own tortilla chips: It's super easy, they are fresher and you can control the salt!. I use popcorn salt on mine, and people seem to be impressed when their still warm on the table!.
***also, you can lay out a spread to go: black bean dip, cheeses, sour cream, chives, etc!. It'll fill your table (and guests) for really cheap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
