Answers:
You need to prepare properly

You need sushi rice (special rice that has the right starch level)

You need rice wine vinegar for the rice

The rest of the ingredients will vary depending on what you are making!.

Keep in mind that sushi refers to the rice(not the fish)!. Sushi must have rice but does not have to have fish!. A vegetable roll would be an example!. Sashimi is the correct term for raw fish served without rice!.

Using a california roll as an example

You need the sushi rice and vinegar mix

You need sheets of Nori

You need an avacado

You need crab (or egad!.!.!.imitation crab)

You need wasabi (Japanese horseradish)

You should have a sushi mat for rolling!.

The technique can be viewed in Youtube better than I can explain here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Start with the right rice!. look for sushi or short grain or pearl rice!. You have to add a mixture of sugar, and vinegar to the rice after it is cooked!. The package should tell you how to do this!. Buy some nori wrappers!. Those are the black seaweed wrappers!. on a table, put down some plastic wrap, then the nori wrapper, then the warm rice, the add either veggies such as cucumber slices, avocado, thin slice carrots or use raw tuna, or cooked shrimp or cooked crab!. Mix and match to your liking!. I would suggest getting a how to make sushi book to help you out!. Some of the little books in a kitchen store are just fine!. It is fun to make sushi, but don't expect perfection the first time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Something to remember- if you decide to use raw fish, make sure it is sushi grade from a reliable source!. Due to parasites etc, it is not safe to use just any fish for raw consumption!. It is best to first talk to someone experienced, for instance, the chef at a local sushi bar if possible!. The term "sushi grade" is used loosely by some vendors, so always practice due diligence!. With a little research, you will find info on the net regarding buying and safely consuming raw fish!.

Depending on your location, it may or may not be an option!.!.!.that is, if you are even interested in the first place!.
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can find zillions of recipes with detailed instructions for making maki zushi (sushi rolls) online, but the most important of all is the rice!. If you get that right, no matter how good you are (or bad) at rolling them it will still taste amazing!. Make sure you cook Japanese short grain rice (koshihikari) and season it with a syrup made from rice wine vinegar, sugar and salt!. Don't mash the grains of rice, delicately fold in the syrup while the rice is still steaming hot!. I sometimes put a little less water in the rice cooker to avoid the rice getting mushy!. Use water on your hands to handle the rice!. Have fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com

My friend lauren makes a no-fish sushi!. it's just sliced cucumbers and shredded carrots mixed with soy sauce and wrapped in rice and finally in pickled seaweed!. Then she sprinkles it with more soy sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

defrost a few fishsticks and wrap some bacon around itWww@FoodAQ@Com
