Baking from a cold oven?!
I'm baking a pound cake with a recipe that says I should start it in a cold oven!. What is the reason for this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

So it will heat the cake more evenly instead of burning the outside before the middle cooks!. It is a very dense cake!.

A hot oven surprises the eggs and makes them expand more rapidly!. Beginning with a cold oven will allow the eggs to just cook with expanding as much thus allowing for a denser cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
