I am afraid if I do that I will not be able to see the detail on it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The light icing called the crumb coat helps create an even texture to the cake actually enhancing the shape of the character!. After the crumb coat, place it in the refrigerator to let the icing harden!. Once it hardens, you can use lightly moistened (clean) hands to help shape the character better!.

The decorating that happens next will make the character come alive even more!.

your starts may come off as you pull away!. the light frosting is used for glue!. glues the star icing to the icing on the cake!.

if your afraid of loosing the detail, keep the colored paper that has the design on it as a road map!.

it's not necessary to frost it first, but the stars will stick better!. and then there's the point of loosing the detail!.

up to you!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I never did and never had a problem with the icing pulling away!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
