Fast isn't something that's usually put with apple pies, but I'll try and help you out!.
First thing, skip making your own crust and buy refrigerated crusts at the store (get the best brand they have, like Betty Crocker)!. They've gotten quite good and bought crusts are a great time saver!.
Next, you can get canned apple filling but I personally hate that stuff!. I suggest you get 5-7 apples (depends on how big your pie pan is) with a mixture of half granny smith and half gala!. Don't wrinkle your nose at me, those granny smiths give a great texture and after all the sugar that's going into the pie, they won't be sour!.
Pull out your pie crusts and let them warm up a little!. It'll make it easier to unroll them!.
Now, in a smaller bowl, mix up 2/3 cup brown sugar (you can use white if you need to), 1/4 cup flour, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp of nutmeg, 1/4 tsp of cloves, and a dash of salt!. You can leave out the nutmeg or cloves if you need to!.
In a big bowl, core, peel, and slice up your apples!. Try to split them into 12 or more slices a piece!. Do NOT chop them!. Pour the sugar mixture over them and toss with your hands till it's all mixed up!.
Now, spread out your first crust into your pan!. Press it down to make it conform to the pan and then dump in your apple filling!. Put two tsps of butter in chunks over the top of the filling!. Doesn't have to be perfect!.
Wet the top edge of the bottom crust with a little water and then put on your top crust!. Now, along the edge you can press it down with a fork or your fingers in pretty shapes or what have you!. Go to town!.
Slice some air holes in the top of the crust!.
OPTIONAL: If you have a brush, you can brush an egg white or water over the top of the pie (avoid the edges or it'll get too brown there) and then sprinkle over some sugar!. It's pretty and people love it!.
Now, here you can toss it into an oven at 425 degrees for 40-50 mins!. Let it cool for a couple hours before eating!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
