Is meat safe that says "KEEP FROZEN", but was accidentally put in the fridge from 20 hours?!
I bought a 6 pack of black angus burgers yesterday (7 pm EST) and put them in the fridge to thaw them out!. When I went to get them out a moment ago, I realized that it says "KEEP FROZEN" on the box and they are made to be cooked while frozen!. I was planning to grill them, but would like to know if there is risk involved from keeping them in the fridge rather than frozen!. Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It won't hurt anything!. Most people use hamburger straight from a package and make them into patties!. Frozen burgers can be thawed before cooking, the only thing that may happen is they might fall apart when you try to flip them!. If you are afraid, you can refreeze them and then grill them!. I worked in several restaurants and keep my food handlers card up to date by going to all the food handlers classes!. You can refreeze any meat as long as it has not spoiled!. You would be able to tell from the smell if your burgers had spoiled!. Restaurants refreeze meats all the time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Remember!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
You thawed them the proper way, in the fridge!. That is the best way to insure that the meat does not enter the "temperature danger zone", 41-141 deg!.
You did the right thing, just adjust your cooking time by 3-4min, or by sight and temp!.
Hope this helps!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.from a chef!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They will still be safe to eat, but ignore the cooking time on the pack as they will cook a lot faster, probably 3-4 minutes each side, depending on thickness!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
this will depend on when u r going to use them if u r going to grill they tonight they will be fine! all u will have to do is adjust the cooking time!.
