Answers:
yes that will be fineWww@FoodAQ@Com

Not knowing the actual recipe and what you are (baking-!?), I'd say in general you can not swap out the fats!. There is a scientific basis for the recipe asks for butter and shortening!.

If you really don't want to use shortening you should just do an internet search for a similar recipe that only uses butter!.

Butter can make a recipe soggy, while shortening is used to make things flaky or crispy, like pie crusts and cookies!. Butter can end up making a baking recipe oily!.

I know shortening is not good for you, but darn using all butter can ruin some recipes!.

in a lot of recipes you can swap shortening for apple sauce, it sounds weird but it works for things like pancake mix, and it tastes the same Www@FoodAQ@Com

applesauce (Applesauce can replace up to ? of the shortening in many recipes!. Add with the liquid ingredients and reduce sugar in recipe if the applesauce is sweetened!.) Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on the recipe!. I have used vegetable oil and salad oil in place of shortening with good results!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes, just replace shortening w/ some more butterWww@FoodAQ@Com
