I think the above answers pretty much covered it, except maybe you could wear a large bathrobe over your clothes while cooking!.
I would like to add though, in case you're also talking about the aroma in the air, I love the smell of cooked onion in the air!. It makes a house smell like a home and tells everyone you've been hard at work preparing their delicious meal!.
Maybe if you burn a few candles in the kitchen too, it might help to keep the smell from lingering, it does with cigarette smoke!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no matter what u may do!! there is no way that u van get rid of the nasty cooking aftersmell in ur clothes!.!.!. i close the door for the kitchen!.!.!.!. switch the vent on, and put it on maximum!.!.!.!. open the windows full!.!.!.!.
to reduce the smell a bit and to prevent the whole house from smelling like what u'be cooked!.!.!.!.!.!. and wash the dishes immediately!.!.!.!. to reduce the nasty smells from giving u a hard time!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I ALWAYS wear a shower cap to stop my hair from smelling - you can change your clothesWww@FoodAQ@Com
