Question: Can I make sugar cookies without the follwoing ingredients
ok this is what you need
Sugar Cookie

1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup softened butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt


I don't have
cream of tarter,I don't have vanilla but i have almond extract,powdered sugar


also I have grade A eggs so would I need to put 3 of those in to equal 2 large!?Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
Almond extract will work the same as vanilla extract but your cookes will have a little bit of a differet almond flavor!! As for eggs just use 2 grade A eggs!!

I am not sure why you need cream or tarter or powered sugar in sugar cookies, I would find a different recipie that does not inclued these ingredients!! Here is a recipie that does not include cream of tarter or powersugar:

Are you sure on the amount of veg oil and butter!? I think you would be okay if you used 1 cup of butter and 2 cups of regular sugar instead of the powered sugar!. The baking soda will make them rise and you can leave out the cream of tartar -- it gives it a "punch" of flavor!. Just use 2 eggs unless you want a fluffier cookie, then add 3!. You can leave out the vanilla and not use anything to replace it, too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here is my cookie recipe!.!.!.and it doesn't call for cream of tartar!. !. !. and it is delicious!

Super Sugar Cookies



1 cup butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup oil
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp soda
pinch of salt
5 -1/4 cups plain flour

Mix butter and sugars!. Add the eggs, stir in the oil!. Add vanilla, combine soda, salt and flour!. Add the other ingredients!. Roll into small balls and place on cookie sheet!. Press flat with a glass that has dipped in sugar!. Bake at 350* for 10 minutes or until light brown!.

Grade A has nothing to do with the size of the eggs - just use 2 eggs!. Without cream of tartar they won't be puffy, and could be harder and flat !.!.!.!. yes, you can substitute almond extract for vanillaWww@FoodAQ@Com
