Question: Well I just purchased a rice cooker/steamer any recipe ideas!?
Has anyone here ever cooked rice in it before!.!.!.it would be my first time!.!.!.i am hoping that the rice would be steamed nicely!.!.!.so any tips or recipes suggestions are appreciated!Www@FoodAQ@Com

RICE COOKER JAMBALAYA

1 1/2 c!. uncooked rice
1 lb!. shrimp or crawfish
1 stick butter, melted
1 lg!. onion
1 c!. bell pepper
3 ribs celery
2 tsp!. Cajun Seasoning
2 cans beef broth
2 tsp!. black pepper
1 tsp!. chili powder
2 tsp!. garlic powder
1-2 tsp!. cayenne pepper
1 tsp!. Accent

Combine all ingredients in the rice cooker and cook on regular cycle!.

SHRIMP LAFOURCHE ALA RICE COOKER

1 c!. rice, uncooked
1 c!. onions
1/2 c!. celery
1/2 c!. bell peppers
10 oz!. can beef broth
1 stick butter
2 lbs!. shrimp or 1 lb!. crawfish
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can mushrooms

Melt butter in pan, saute onions, celery, bell pepper, mushrooms until soft!. Pour into rice cooker!. Add beef broth, rice, shrimp or crawfish, salt and pepper!. Turn on rice cooker!. When cooker's bell rings, it is done!.

SHRIMP PILAF

1 med!. onion, chopped
1 chopped bell pepper
1 1/2 c!. rice (rice cooker measuring cup)
1 can (4 oz!.) mushrooms & liquid
1 can beef broth
1/4 lb!. butter
Salt & pepper
1 lb!. shrimp

Combine everything together and pour into rice cooker and turn cooker on!. When done, the cooker will go off!.

I like to make rice mixes in it, like Jambalaya or Dirty Rice or whatever!. Just follow the box for the amount of liquid, then add it all to the rice cooker at the same time and turn it on!. And you're done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

how about rice, rice cookers offer little versatility, hence the reason you only seem them at chinese buffets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
