Peanut Butter Cookies


3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup shortening
1-1/2 cups light brown sugar
3 tbsp milk
1 tbsp vanilla
1 egg
1-3/4 cup all purpose flour
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda



1!. Heat oven to 375*!.


2!. Combine peanut butter, shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl!. Beat at medium speed until well blended!. Add the egg, just until blended!.


3!. Combine flour, salt and baking soda!. Add to creamed mixture at low speed!. Mix just until blended!.


4!. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet!. Flatten with fork!. Bake one baking sheet at a time for 7-8 minutes or until set and just beginning to brown!. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet!. Place sheets of foil on counter and remove the cookies to the foil to cool!. Store in an airtight container!.

Mix and drop by teaspoons on a cookie sheet and press with a fork!. Bake at 375° on top rack for 8-10 minutes!.

This doesn't make a very big batch, so you might want to double it!.

almost any recipe will do, but you must watch carefully not to over cook them!. Just as the edges start to brown, remove from the oven!. Cool on a rack then stash in air tight container and they will stay soft!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For softer cookies use shortening rather than butter!. And I think you use more white sugar than brown!.
