well!.!.!. i kinda experimented one time, and tried t make pralines, but it turn out kinda like a liquid and got chewy after an hour!. i basically tried to cook brown sugar, sugar, milk, and butter, but i dont remeber the exact amounts!. it turned out delicious!.!.!. but i guess your gonna have to experiment with it a little!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think what you want is more like what they call dulce de leche in south america!. Here is an easy recipe!.
* 1 can sweetened condensed milk
Procedure
1!. Preheat oven to 425°F!.
2!. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into an 8-inch round pie or square cake pan, and cover it with foil!.
3!. Place the pan in a shallow pan filled with one inch of water!. Bake for one hour!.
4!. Allow to cool; eat with bananas or as a cookie filling!. Great over ice cream, etc!.

Something you could try, Make it as normal but stir with a wooden spoon and in one direction only!. May sound daft but if you make toffee and stir in both directions it will turn out fudge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
