Answers:
Melt about 3/4 teaspoon of margarine in the bottom of a skillet over med low heat!.
Butter (real butter is tastier) 1 side of a piece of white bread!. Place it in the skillet, butter side down!.
Place 2 slices of cheese on top of bread!.
Put another slice of buttered bread on top of cheese, buttered side up!.
When the bread has turned a golden brown flip the sandwich over and grill the other side to golden!.
**Cook it slowly so that the cheese melts and the bread does not burn!.
**I prefer the mix of real butter and margarine for a nice taste!. If you don't have both, just use whichever you have available!.

For a "traditional" grilled cheese, do this:
Butter two pieces of white bread!. Heat skillet to medium high!. Put one slice of buttered bread in skillet, buttered side down!. Add two slices of cheese!. Top with remaining buttered bread, buttered side up!. When bottom bread is golden, flip over and brown other buttered side!.
For a non-traditional grilled cheese, try this: Spread two slices of pumpernickel bread with bacon grease!. Put one slice in pan, greased side down!. Add Edam or Guryere cheese!. Put second slice of bread on top!. When first side is crisp, flip over and crisp second side, until cheese melts!. Sprinkle sandwich with black pepper!. ENJOY!!!!!

Okay, everyone's previous answers say it all but I always use anything but American cheese!. My personal favorite is havarti or gruyere!.!.!.something nice and creamy!. And anything but white bread!. Pumpercikel is great, rye, wheat!.!.!.whatever you like!. I always put sliced tomato and pickle slices on mine before grilling as well!. And of course you have to have tomato soup (preferably with basil chopped up on top!.) The soup is great for dipping!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Use real butter!. Grate the cheese instead of using slices!. And grill it slowly, otherwise the bread will burn before the cheese melts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
take 2 peices of bread, butter one side on each, put the chesse in between the non buttered peices of bread, then u make it!. not that hard!. common senseWww@FoodAQ@Com
That's about it!. You butter the outside of the sandwich instead of the inside and fry the whole thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
This is going to look like a lot of my other answers here!.!.!. but!.!.!.
Try using some garlic powder on the butter side before putting it in the pan!
Whole wheat bread also makes a great grilled cheese!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
