How do you make sugar cookies!

there are different recipes!. this one is from gold medal flour!.
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg
2 and 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
colored sugar or granulated sugar
In a large bowl, beat sugar and butter on low speed or with spoon until light and fluffy!. stir in vanilla, almond extract and egg!. stir in flour and baking soda!. shape dough by teaspoonfuls into balls!. on ungreased cookie sheet place 2 inches apart!. flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar!. Bake 9-11 minutes or untill set!. immediately remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack!.
ps!. if you dip your glass in water, then the sugar it will stay on the glass!. i also let the cookies cool on the cookie sheet a few minutes before removing them!. make sure you preheat your oven to 375 degrees!.

1 1/2 cups white sugar

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)!. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder!. Set aside!.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth!. Beat in egg and vanilla!. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients!. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets!.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden!. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks!.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C)!. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets!.
Cream together sugar and butter!. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla!.
Add flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar!. Stir!.
Form dough into walnut size balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet!. Don't flatten!. Bake 10 to 11 minutes, until tops are cracked and just turning color!.
Makes 24!.

One trick is after you mix all the ingredients, leave it in the fridge for about an hour, because it makes it way easier to put in the cookie pan!. if you have a lot of extra time, leave it in for two, but an hour does the trick!
