We have four sons ranging in age from newborn to age 15 and we all cook from scratch here!. We don't like to go to the store often and we refuse to give them much money!. We're very frugal and health conscious!. Most of these recipes come from the book "Whole Foods For the Whole Family" by the breastfeeding mom's group La Leche League!. Our 3 year old has an awesome garden this year,so we have lots of fresh veggies to use up!.
Have any ideas you could add!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

That is a great list!. I think i'll borrow from you!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your choices are very economical and healthy!. It's good that your kids are cooking!.
We are having chili, stroganoff, soup, bean casserole, mexican casserole, and sweet and sour rice

These are so easy!. You don't have to be "a cook", just have a library card or net access and not be lazy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wow!. I really applaud you for doing this! It's nice that you are using fresh veggies and encorporating it in your meals to show all of your kids that you can grow things at home, and use them in your cooking! Your list looks pretty much set, but the only thing I could add is maybe some vegetable soup!. if there are potatoes in the garden, baked potatoes would be great too! Great Job on Cooking Healthy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

We are having this week -

BBQ Ribs

shake and bake pork chops

fried chops

chicken and dumplings

That's about it!! For now, can't think of anything else!. Maybe some tacos too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah, I'm borrowing from your list, too!. I like it that your main attraction is a grain!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This might sound wierd, but everyone who's eaten it by me loves it!.
CORNFLAKES CHICKEN
plain Kellogs cornflakes
About 10-15 chicken thighs, without skins (not breast, it'll come out too dry)
garlic powder, 1-2 tspns
sweet paprika, tspn
black pepper, according to taste
NO SALT ADDED

In a thick plastic bag, place about 3 cups of the cornflakes!.
Use a rolling pin to grind them up!. It's more fun than by machine, kids can help, and they come out coarser, you do not want a fine powder!.
Add the garlic powder, paprika and black pepper
Shake it up til its mixed evenly
Take the chicken, 2 pieces at a time, no oil or anything, just place them in the bag and give a good shake til they're coated all over evenly!.
Place them on a baking tray (no oil necessary)!. Any leftover cornflakes, just spread the rest on the chicken to cover it!. It'll protect it from getting dried out!.
In a preheated oven, at about 350 f or 190 c, cover the chicken with silver foil and bake for about 45 minutes!. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 20-30 minutes!. The cornflakes should be toasted nicely!. No need to turn the chicken over!
Chicken comes out crunchy outside and very moist inside!.
Serve right away, with mashed potatoes/fried onions/gravy
!.!.!.!. it's really good!.
kids seem to love this!. it takes me 15 minutes to get the chicken ready in the tray (with kids, longer of course)!.
Bon apetit
I'd love to know if you tried it and what you thought

I can't plan too far in advance, I have found when I get out & plan a weeks' worth of meals it NEVER comes out because there's usually at least one meal where I have too many lefftovers the next night becomes make over your leftovers night - I have a HUGE list of leftover recipes I make from- -

Today husband is trying to talk me into this taco salad - but I'm thinking more in the line of stuffed zucchini cus I have ground beef

But M-W the fam is eating simple (I'm doing 3 day diet) and then the next 2 days will be whatever I have on hand!. I haven't went grocery shopping yet for the week!.
