Answers:
lol, I just asked this too!. My question is right below yours on the list!. Unfortunately I haven't gotten many good answers yet!. The only answer I have (for you and myself) is to get The Baker's granola from your local supermarket!. I don't know if they sell it in every state but they do here in New York!. The ingredient list for their Pecan Granola reads: "rolled oats, sunflower seeds, coconut, maple syrup, honey, pecans, and walnuts!." I don't know how they made it without using some sort of fat or oil, but it tastes really good and isn't too sweet!. It only has 5 grams of sugar per serving!. But the best would be to make it on your own, so that's why I'm trying to find a homemade version!.
This is the healthiest homemade version I've found on the Net so far but it uses coconut oil (which I don't have at home and I have never used or tasted it before) so I am kind of hesitant to make it!. But maybe it will help you, so here it is:
Homemade Granola Recipe:
4 cups old fashioned rolled oats!.
4 pitted medjool dates
? cup organic raisins
? cup roasted almonds
? cup raw walnuts
? cup dry, unsweetened coconut
? cup virgin coconut oil
? cup raw honey
Dash of sea salt
1 teaspoons cinnamon
Place oats in a large mixing bowl!.
Place dates, raisins, almonds and walnuts in your food processor with the S blade in place!. Chop the dried fruit and nuts until they have reached your desired consistency!.
Pour the dried fruit and nut mixture into the bowl with the oats!. Mix together thoroughly!. Next add the coconut oil and honey and stir into the oats, nuts and dried fruit mixture!.
Add a dash of sea salt, the cinnamon and the dried coconut!. Stir and incorporate all ingredients
Well hope this helped!. =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Granola Recipe:
3 cups (300 grams) old-fashioned rolled oats (not instant)
3/4 cup (75 grams) sliced or slivered almonds
1/2 cup (45 grams) raw sunflower seeds
1/2 cup (45 grams) raw pumpkin seeds
1/2 tablespoon (5 grams) wheat germ (optional)
1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons canola oil or 2 tablespoons (28 grams) unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup (120 ml) pure maple syrup (preferably Grade A Dark Amber)
1 cup dried fruits (cranberries, cherries, apricots, dates, figs, and/or raisins) (optional)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and place rack in the center of the oven!. Either butter or line a baking sheet with parchment paper!.
In a large bowl combine the rolled oats, nuts, seeds, wheat germ, ground cinnamon, and salt!.
In a small bowl, stir together the oil (or melted butter), and maple syrup!. Pour this mixture over the dry ingredients and toss together, making sure all the dry ingredients are coated with the liquid!. Spread onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 30 - 45 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally so the mixture browns evenly!. (The browner the granola gets (without burning) the crunchier the granola will be!.) Place on a wire rack to cool!. You will notice that the granola may still be sticky when it is removed from the oven but it will become crisp and dry as it cools!. Make sure to break up any large clumps of granola while the mixture is still warm!. Once the granola has completely cooled, store in an airtight container or plastic bag in the refrigerator!. It will keep for several weeks!.
Makes about 5 cups!.
Note: Once the granola has cooled completely you can add a variety of dried fruits; cherries, cranberries, raisins, and apricots are popular choices!.

Granola consists mainly of oats and a simple syrup to help the little clusters stick together!. Sometimes it has other stuff like flax seeds, raisins, and dried berries!. Check out your local health food store for these ingredients; not only will your granola be organic, but healthier for you as well!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
