Making homemade bread crumbs!

Question: Making homemade bread crumbs
I need to make homemade bread crumbs b/c I have to be careful of cheese in it!. I have an idea how to make it, but was wondering if anyone has any good, cheese free recipes!? also, can you give me an idea of how many slices from a standard size loaf you need to get a cup of bread crumbs!?

Any and all help is appreciated!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
buy your favorite dairy free bread (sliced doesn't work that well for this, so try to buy like a baguette or something like that, with a nice thick crunch and crust to it) let it get old, I'm not talking about mold old, but stale old!. when its nice and stale, tear it up into 2-3 inch chunks with your hands and put it in a food processor until you get that nice bread crumb consistency!. If you live in a high humidity area (like me) you might want to put it in the oven for about 10 minutes at 200-250 degrees, before ripping it up and putting it in the processor, to remove the humidity from it!.
Good Luck

If you get "Plain" bread crumbs, there is nothing in it but bread!.

But you can make your own!. Use stale bread, dry it out in an oven, or let dry at room temp for a couple days, then whirl in a food processor!. You can also season them w/ salt, pepper, italian seasoning blend, garlic or onion pocontainer!. Store in airtight containter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
