All grain products have spores in them and in the right envierment, ( tempature and air mix),the spores(eggs) hatch thus not meal worms but bole weavil, and they get in everything including nuts!. I keep my flour in Tupper ware or in the freezer!. Have never had any trouble with cooking later!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Those maggots are meal worms!. Keep your flour in an air tight containor, or the freezer!. Only problem with the freezer, is some delicate recipes may be effected by the temp of the floor!. (ie!. may have an effect on bread rising, etc!.)
I keep my floor, in a (Tuperware) containor!. Never had a problem with meal worms then!. Grits and corn meal seem more prone than flour!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I usually just keep it in the original package and just put it in a ziploc bag and then pop it into the refridgeorator!. Keeps it fresh also!. You can also try an airtight container so it doesnt get moist which may be the reason for the pesky bugs!. Good luck! Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Do what I do!. Just insert a cinnamon stick to yr container of flour!. There's something abt cinnamon sticks that insects just hate, I dont know why!. Probably the smell!. Have a go & tell me if it works for you!. I know it works very well 4 me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You should never leave the flour in the packaging!. That's the reason why you're getting bugs in the flour!. Your best option is to put it into an airtight container or in the fridge or freezer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i used to have the same problem but i put it in an airtight container and than stored that in the fridge than the bugs all just disappeared!. trust me it worksWww@FoodAQ@Com
Put your flour in the freezer for 24 hours!. Then transfer it into a ziplock type bag or an airtight container!.
That should kill any eggs that are in there at purchase!.
Good Luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
