Bless you, I was born in the United States and I was born knowing what jelly was!. It never occured to me that there were those that didn't! If you have never had any, why don't you google it and you can find a way to make it yourself!. I have and it is delicious when it is homemade!. Most people here in the south use grape jelly on the pb sandwiches!., I have even know those to make peanut butter and honey!.!.Try it, you'll like it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Broadly, jelly is canned fruit, or preserves!. The fruit is canned with pectin to give it a jelly-like consistency!. Specifically, jelly tends to contain less actual fruit than jam or preserves, which are acceptable substitutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Good question! Don't put any Jell-O in there!

It is fruit preserves!. It is jam that has no chunks, (although most of us in the USA will use jam instead if thats what's handy) It is made with mostly juice rather than whole fruits!. Strawberry and Grape are the two most popular kinds!.

Strawberry jam works great, IMO!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Jelly is made from fruit juice!. Jam is made from the actual fruit!. There is a price difference between the two for a reason!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
