A recipe for Kheer that doesn't add...!
Does anyone have a recipe for Kheer that doesn't add nuts or raisins!? Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
You can usually leave nuts and raisins out of any recipe, since they don't interact with the other ingredients (like milk or baking soda would for example), so if you have a recipe you like already, you may want to just go with that!. If not, try this one:
Kheer
1/2 cup uncooked white rice
2 quarts milk
1 1/2 cups white sugar
4 pods cardamon
2 teaspoons rose water
1!. Soak the rice in a bowl of water for 1 hour!.
2!. Drain the rice and place it in a large, heavy saucepan!. Add the milk!. Cook over low heat, covered, for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender!.
3!.Stir in the sugar and cardamon and cook for 20 minutes!.
4!. Remove from heat and stir in the rose water!.
Serve warm or cold!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
