How to cook frozen French fries??!
Hi,
I bought a store brand pack of frozen French fries from Giant store!. It reads Crispy on the package so I thought it will turn out crispy!. Followed the direction on the back and fried them in a pan (added some oil and heated up the oil first)!. But they came out too soft and not good at all!. Now I’d like to know:
1) How do you cook frozen fries!? What’s the best way so that they get crispy and not too soft!?
2) What did I do wrong!?
Thanks!

You didn't cook them long enough, or let the oil get hot enough, or put enough oil in the pan!. I do this all the time, you need to heat the oil first!.!.!.get it good and hot like a deep fryer (Which is what you should be using), then add the fries to it!. Single layer don't try to cook the whole bag at once!.
Drain them on paper towels don't let the fat soak in!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

it sounds like you did not cook them long enough!. Next time don't go by the time on the package, go by how they look!. When they start to get a little brown on the edges then they are crispy!.
I usually cook mine in the oven and they come out cripsy - again, just go by how they look not how long the package tells you to cook them, use that as a guideline only!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You may need to fry them in batches!.!.!. too many fries in the oil will lower the temp, so they sort of stew in the now-warm oil rather than frying in hot oil!.
also, you can spray w/ cooking spray and bake at a pretty high temp, 400oF or so!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

BAKE THEM!. I use a Pampered Chef baking stone!. If you don't have one, I suggest you get one if you're gonna bake fries!. The stone wicks away the moisture from the fries leaving them crispy and PERFECT!!
P!.S!. I think you can buy baking stones elsewhere, too!.!.!.Pampered chef is kinda pricey!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I BAKE them on a baking pan, topped with crumbled-up tin foil (so the air circulates around the fries) - sprayed lightly with Pam!. There will be baking directions on the bags too, but it's usually about 425 for maybe 20 min or soWww@FoodAQ@Com
Usually just follow package directions!. Using crumbled tin foil on bottom of pan and baking helps!. Make sure you watch to make sure they don't burn!. A flip of the fries mid way helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
