Here is the recipe I usually use; it's a classic stovetop version:

INGREDIENTS
6 thick slices bread
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
salt to taste

DIRECTIONS
Beat together egg, milk, salt, desired spices and vanilla!.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle of skillet over medium-high flame!.
Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides!. Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden!. Serve hot!.

But when I'm in the mood for something really special and I have some time, I use this baked recipe with caramel sauce!. So good!

Me

One egg for each 2 slices of bread
Beat in a small amount of milk, cinnamon sugar and best touch - vanilla!.

Dip the bread quickly and fry in butter!.

I find if the bread is too thick and you really sop it - it never seems to cook the egg that had soaked into the middle and it will all be soggy and raw!. So quick dip so the egg does not soak through to the middle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

makes 4 pieces

2 eggs + 1 tbsp of milk
dash of salt
couple of dashes cinnamon!. mix and dip bread in the egg mixture, coat on both sides and fry in slightly greased fry pan (my husband fries in butter its up to you)
