Question: Something easy to make for a family reunion!?
I am going to a family reunion on sunday!. It is pretty far away, so I am staying at my grandmothers the night before!. Now that I am considered an adult ( I have a child ) means I have to bring something!. What can I make that is easy enough to do it at someones else's house and last a 4 hour trip!. also I am not Betty Crocker here!. Something easyWww@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a chef with my own large cooking group on eons!.com!. Here is an easy cake recipe that is incredibly delicious, and will impress everyone!. Trust me, you can do this, even if you're an amateur!.

INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS COCONUT CAKE

1 box of Duncan Hines White, or Coconut cake mix
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla

Frosting:
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese at room temp!.
1 stick of butter at room temp
1 tsp vanilla
1 box of powdered sugar
1 pkg angel flake coconut

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 deg!. F!. Grease and flour a 13x9 inch baking pan (a layer cake won't travel well)!.

In a large bowl, mix the cake according to directions on the box; add the sour cream and vanilla, and mix well!.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, and bake approximately 55 min!., or until it springs back when pressed in the middle!.
Remove from oven and let cool completely before frosting!.

Frosting:
In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until light and fluffy!. Add the box of powdered sugar and beat until completely incorporated and fluffy!.
Frost top of cooled cake!. Sprinkle the entire top with a goodly amount of the Angel Flake coconut!.

*This cake needs no refrigeration, and will travel well if you cover it with double layers of plastic wrap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Every family reumion that I attend has the following: deviled eggs, some sort of cold meat like barbecue, fruit salad, pasta salad and 17 kinds of dessert!. There is always at least one bucket of KFC and enough soft drinks to swim in!. If you're worried about perishible food during the 4-hour trip, what about volunteering to get soft drinks, plates & cutlery, garbage bags, cups or ice!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are several things you can make and put in cooler for the trip!. Fruit salad, 7 layer salad and my favorite Broccoli Salad!. That's been a hit around my friends and family lately!. In fact, you can find it certain grocery stores that have salad bars!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

think your best bet would be to visit a fruit market in the area and purchase some fruit !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.make up your own sliced fresh fruit platter, even watermelon cut in squares will adjust any ones appetite at a picnic or reunion, and real easy to do too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make a container of club sandwiches or pinwheels!.
Sausage rolls, or quiche can be made ahead and frozen, they will defrost on the way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

OREO COOKIE CAKE

1 pkg!. Super Moist cake mix
3 eggs
1 1/4 c!. water
1 stick butter, softened
1 c!. coarsely chopped Oreo cookies (about 12)
1 tub vanilla frosting

Heat oven to 350 degrees!. Grease and flour 2 cake pans!. Beat cake mix, eggs, water and butter on low for 30 seconds!. Beat on medium for 2 minutes!. Reserve 2 tablespoons cookies for icing!. Fold remaining cookies into batter with spoon!.
Bake 30-35 minutes!. Cool 10 minutes in pans!. Remove from pans and cool completely before icing!. Crush cookies for icing very fine!. Mix into frosting and spread on cake!.

devils food cake cookies

1 box (18 1/4 ounces) devil's food cake mix
2 eggs
1/4 cup hot coffee or hot water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup bits of chocolate-toffee candy

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F!.

Combine cake mix, eggs, coffee, oil and flour in large bowl!. Beat on low speed until all ingredients are moistened; then beat on high speed for 2 minutes!. Dough will be sticky!. Fold in chocolate pieces, pecans and candy until evenly distributed!. Using about half of the batter, drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart!.

Bake for 12 to 14 minutes!. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet on a wire rack for 4 to 5 minutes or until firm!. With a metal spatula, transfer the cookies to the wire rack to cool!. Repeat with the remaining batter!. Serve slightly warm or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks

Chocolate Marshmallow Meltaways
INGREDIENTS

* 1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
* 3/4 cup sugar
* 1 egg
* 1/4 cup milk
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/2 cup baking cocoa
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 18 large marshmallows, halved
* FROSTING:
* 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
* 3 cups confectioners' sugar
* 3 tablespoons baking cocoa
* 1/8 teaspoon salt
* 4 tablespoons milk

DIRECTIONS

1!. In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar!. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla!. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture!. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in!. apart onto ungreased baking sheets!. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes!. Press a marshmallow, cut side down, onto each cookie!. Bake 2 minutes longer!. Remove to wire racks to cool!.
2!. In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, cocoa and salt!. Add enough milk to achieve spreading consistency!. Frost cooled cookies
