Fruit Salad with banana?!

Question: Fruit Salad with banana!?
I'm making a fruit salad this weekend, I have cantelope, pineapple, grapes, apples and blueberries, do you think bananas would taste okay!? I love bananas!.

Is there any way to keep them from turning brown!? I want my salad to look fresh! Thanks in advance for the helpWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Dip your bananas and apple bits both in LEMON juice!. It does NOT change the flavor!. It enhances the entire salad!.

To have the best looking salad, do all fruits into individual containers ahead of time!. Blend them together at the last minute!.

I would add a package of mini marshmallows and a lovely sauce of 1/4 cup oj concentrate, 1/4 cup honey, and 1/2 cup mayo all blended together then poured over at the last minute before tossing the fruits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Bananas get mushy if you put them in ahead of time; and lemon juice will change the flavor and also make them mushy!. You can buy a jar of Fruit Fresh (either the baking/spice aisle or where they sell the canning supplies) - but bananas are best put in at the last minute!. The same thing with the apples:) I save apples for winter fruit salads and use watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melons, with pineapple, strawberries & blueberries in summer!. Garnish with sliced starfruit and fresh mint sprigs!. !.!.!.!. Hollow out half watermelon and put the fruit salad back into the watermelon shell to serve !.!.!.!.!. Add the bananas at the last minute, and forget the apples in summerWww@FoodAQ@Com

Toss your bananas in lemon or lime juice after slicing to prevent browning!. I'd add them at the last possible moment, too, and don't add ones that are too ripe!. Bananas on the greener side will hold up better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with two step, the lemon juice would change the flavor and they do get mushy!.

I love bananas, but I would just skip the bananas for the fruit salad!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

put the bananas in lemon juice first before puttin in the saladWww@FoodAQ@Com

sounds delicious i always have banana in my fruit salads lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

Bananas would be fine- it sounds great!Www@FoodAQ@Com
