Can I Convert A Muffin Recipe To Make Bread?!

Question: Can I Convert A Muffin Recipe To Make Bread!?
I have this great recipe for Betty Crocker Blueberry Streusel Muffins-
http://www!.bettycrocker!.com/recipes/Reci!.!.!.

but I just don't feel like going through all the trouble of paper liners and dribbling batter all over the muffin tin!. Can I use this same recipe and bake it in a 9x9 pan or a standard loaf pan!? If I use a loaf pan, will all the berries sink to the bottom and make a goopy mess!?

I should note here that I will be adding the blueberries directly from the freezer!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
you should be able to just put it in the pan instead of the muffin tray!. it should work!. a recipe i have tells you to pour half the batter in the pan then to spread the bluberries on top and then put the rest of the batter on top of them and then bake!. so if your recipe with mixing them in batter fails try that!. good luck

For most muffin recipes, you can convert them to a quick bread by just baking the bread longer than you would a muffin!. For my oven, I have found that I need to bake a loaf of bread about three times longer than I would if I were making the dough as a muffin!. I have done this with a banana bran muffin and chocolate chip muffins!. It really depends on the heat of your oven!.

For the first time, you are going to have to keep an eye on it and have a toothpick handy!. When the toothpick comes out clean, the loaf will be done!. Oh, and make sure to grease your breadpan first, as you will not have a muffin liner there as a buffer!.

My guess is that the blueberries will not sink, as they don't really sink when you make a muffin!. If you do find that they sink, you may want to add just a bit more flour and then bake for a little less time at about 25 degrees cooler!.

Hope that works for you and thanks for the recipe link!. I'll have to try these!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. Just bake it at about 350 F- 375 F for 30 min- 45 min!. The berries should be fine in the bread if the batter is thick not soupy!. If your batter is soupy add flour until it becomes thicker!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, I think any muffin recipe will also make a nice loaf!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. Usually there are directions on the box for making "quick bread"!. It is the same recipe but requires different cooking time!.

If the recipe isn't on the box, put it in your 9X9 and check the quick bread after about ten minutes cooking!. (Do not open the oven door unless you have to!. Check with a toothpick when you think it is about done, like you would a cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
