Is regular cream a good substitute for creme fraiche?!

Question: Is regular cream a good substitute for creme fraiche!?
Or is sourcream or yogurt better!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Sour cream is going to be your closest substitute!. BUT, it's super easy to make!

1 part cultured buttermilk
7 parts cream
mix it up a bit
leave on counter at room temperature for about 12 hours
chill

It will turn into creme fraiche!. Thick cream, a little tangy!. It is absolutely safe to eat!. I do it all the time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sour cream is probably the closest you are going to find!. But check at your more "upscale" markets and gourmet stores they carry creme fraiche these days!. ( Fun to browse them even if you can not afford to really shop great ideas and lots of samples)Www@FoodAQ@Com

no but sour cream is the closest to itWww@FoodAQ@Com
