I'm trying to figure out how to make my cake more moist?!

Question: I'm trying to figure out how to make my cake more moist!?
All right, so I have a box of instant chocolate cake!. It's nothing special, but I want to bake it for my mother tomorrow!. I've noticed that sometimes instant cakes turn out a little dry, so I was wondering if there was anything I could add to the mix (like an extra egg, or milk or something) that would make the cake a little more moist!?

Thanks!! Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, an extra egg and more oil or a cup ofapplesaucee!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I substitute the water for pineapple juice or milk!. When the cake is done I make a little bit of simple syrup(half sugar, half water!.!.!.put it in a pot and heat it up until the sugar dissolves completely and cool) and you can flavor the syrup with some sort of alcohol like rum or extract like vanilla!. Brush the syrup on the cake, it works better if you cut the cake in half and soak the inside!. Make sure you don't go overboard!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use more butter (Country crock preferably) and milk, not too much though!. And when the cake is finish don't leave it in the oven, take it out as soon as it is finished!. The heat tends to dry it out too if u leave it in the oven!.

I hope I was of assistance to you!.
I'm no expert but I know a thing or two!.

you can add a little bit of sour cream to the mix to make it more moist!.
also make sure you don't over bake it, and you can try freezing it while it's still warm (if you have time) for a few hours or a day!. this is supposed to make it more moist, although i have never tried it!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

bake the cake only until it begins to pull from the edges of the pan and no longer!. Chocolate cakes are the worlds worst at getting too dry if overbaked!. Set timer for 5 minutes less than minimum time then watch it closely for the next few minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
