Does anyone have a good frosting recipe!? (for a cake) I really hate butter and all I know how to make really is buttercream and the 7 minute white frosting, but I get sick of the same kind all the time!. thanks so much!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
make a ganache for your frosting!. ingredients: equal amounts of heavy cream and semi-sweet chocolate pieces, equal by weight!. (8 oz cream, 8 oz chocolate!.!.!.!.)
directions:
pour the cream into a pot and put over medium-high heat until it begins to boil!. put your chocolate pieces in a large bowl!. when cream begins to boil, remove from heat and pour over the chocolate pieces in the bowl!. allow it to sit for a minute or two and then begin stirring!. if you still see and/or feel chocolate pieces still whole in the bowl, give it another minute to continue softening!. when you stir the cream and chocolate you should have a sauce that looks similar to chocolate syrup, and shiny!. place your cake onto a sheet pan with a cooling rack on it, or some other rack that will let the excess ganache fall through so it doesn't collect around the base of the cake!. immediately pour the ganache onto the cake by slowly pouring directly into the center of the cake, allowing for even distribution of the ganache!. let it sit to set-up, for faster results you can refrigerate it, but room temp will give you the best results!. that's it! easy frosting that really takes no time at all! good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
