My tomoato sauce tastes too "tomatoey"?!
I just made a spaghetti sauce from cans (sauce, crushed tomatoes and puree) and added some spices (basil, orengano, onion powder, garlic powder, and italian seasoning) but it still tastes very tomotoey!. What can I do to help it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Simmer the sauce for a 40-45 min!. and it should smooth out the flavor and and also get rid of the tartness!. But like someone else mentioned a touch of sugar would also help!. Not much, maybe 1 tsp!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Omit the sauce and the puree!. add either beef stock, or you can add 2 tbls!. of olive oil to a pot, and cook 1 or 2 packages pork neck bones, depending on how much sauce you are making!. Add a little onion and garlic to them!.cook them about 45 min!. to an hour!. Add the bones to your pot of sauce, along with about 2 tbls of the oil and broth!. strain only if you feel it is neccesary!. Remove bones after about 2 to 3 hrs!. add one can of water for every 4 cans!.
When using dried herbs make sure you put the herbs in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together allowing the herbs to fall into the pot!.

First of all then I would say that a good tomato sauce should taste of tomatoes!. I don't know why one would disguise what it is from!. The secret of good cooking is to enhance the flavours!.
It sounds like the sauce will take more flavor tomorrow once you add the onions, peppers and garlic!. Just be patient!.

well you could saute some onions and garlic in olive oil and add to the sauce!.
you should add some parsley!.!.!.!.!. that adds alot of flavor!.!.!.

As others have said, sugar is the secret!.
You could also add more spices!. Throw in some fresh garlic!. Fry up some onions, chop them and put them in!. A little chipotle to give it some zip!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not use spaghetti sauce! It is made from tomatoes! Maybe add a pinch of sugar, my mother in law does that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
