Question: How do you melt homemade American cheese, such as Velveeta, & make it smooth & creamy, like nacho cheese!?
Answers:
melt it in a slow cooker with some milk or cream whisked into it!. Can do it on top of the stove too but need to watch it carefully since it will burn easy!. We make a nacho cheese dip in the crock pot for larger family gatherings that is just a block of the Velveeta and a couple cans of either Hormel chili or Ro-Tel spicy tomatoes and just heat!. Stir to blend and pour over nacho chips!. You could make homemade chili which would be extra good instead of the canned, you can add diced hot peppers to kick it up a notch, you can add what ever!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

cut cheese into small cubes and put in a glass bowl with a plate or a cover or top so it dosent splatter, put in microwave on high for 3 minutes , then take out, stir, pop back in micro for 1 minute at a time and stirring in between until its mented!.!.!. its awesome if you throw a jar of salsa in with the cheese cubes a stir together!.!.!.!.!. dip tortillas in it!.!.!. awesome!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Take a 3 inch chunk of Velveeta, cut it up into a bowl and add a few tablespoons of milk and micro it for a couple minits!. Stirr it once or twice!. May need to go longer!.
If you want you can put in salsa instead of the milk, that's really good!.
Heat it up in micro until its all soft and mixes up easy!.

i melt my velveeta in a microwave (in a microwave safe cotainer)!.i add milk and mix it!.when it first comes out its nice and creamy, but if you leave it sitting for awhile, the top will start to cool off,so when you mix it,it gets kinda lumpy, from the cooled off cheese,so just reheat it again!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I put it into a microwave safe dish, add milk, and microwave till soft, then mix, and repeat till right consistancyWww@FoodAQ@Com
