Caprial Pence has a recipe for chicken soup in one of her books that has roasted red peppers and madiera wine!.!.!.that is hands down the best chicken soup recipe I've ever made and I LOVE to cook and experiment!. I don't recall which book and am too lazy to go through all her books and find it (sorry) but it was also printed on a chicken stock carton a few years ago so shouldn't be hard to find!.

Any any book by Caprial that you pick up will be full of totally winning recipes!. When I want to try something new, I pull out her books and only her books because I know they will all be winners and they are well explained and easy to follow!.

PS - I just went back and read a bunch of recipes above me, and I can tell you they are pretty much coming from non-cook types!. Spend the time to find Caprials recipe, I guarantee you and anyone you feed this soup to will be thrilled with it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't have exact measurements, but I remember always watching my Grandmother making it!.

She would get a chicken fryer and put into a large stock pot and cover with cold water and add in salt and pepper, bay leaves, some thyme, carrots, celery, onions and cover and let boil approx 30-40 minutes until the chicken was falling off the bone!. Then she would careful lift out the chicken and set aside and then pick out the bay leaves and shred the chicken and put back into the pot!. She would then tear up little pieces of canned bisquits and add into the mixture and thicken it up with some flour and water!. Boil up until it gets to the consistency you like!. The bisquits make little dumplings!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

remove thighs and bone!.!.strain broth!.!.!.return broth to pot and add veggies of choice!.!.cook for 30 mins then add chicken!.heat through!.
