I dont put anything on mine untill they are coked!. Just wash them and put the in the middle of the oven for 2 hours roughly!. Prick them with a knife and you will be able to tell when they are cooked!. Then you can add your filling yum yum!.!.!.
I start mine off in the microwave!. I wash them and pierce them and put them in for 12 mins then i put them in the oven for half an hour!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do mine for about 10 mins in the microwave on high, then transfer them to a hot oven to finish off!. I never wrap them in foil because I like the skins crispy so I just put them in the oven until they're done!.
If you wanted to rub butter on the skins, that'd work in place of oil!.
Microwaved bakers aren't very nice, so I'd definitely finish them off in the oven!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I suggeat you boil them for about 10 minutes or so (until just underdone), drain and let cool!.
When they are dry, rub some soft butter on them, and pop into a pre-warmed oven (about 200 C) for another 30 minutes!.
If you have some fresh thyme, scatter some over the potatoes!. It doesn't really alter the atste, but it makes a great home-cooking smell in the kitchen

Remember to perform the 'squishy' test on them!.
With a pot holder - when you think they're done - hold them one at a time & try to (gently) squeeze - they are done when they yield to pressure!Www@FoodAQ@Com
