Can you bake a chocolate cake without using greaseproof paper to line the bottom of the cake tin?!
Can a cake be baked without putting greaseproof paper at the bottom of the cake tin!? Can I only grease the tin with some extra butter and not put any greaseproof paper on top!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hello Amy,
You don't have to use paper liners for your tin!. You may use a non-stick cooking spray!. When I bake my chocolate cakes, I use a thin coating of butter, then I dust it with cocoa powder!. Flour with butter works too, but can leave a white residue on your cake, that is why I use cocoa when baking chocolate cakes!.
I hope this helps you out!

If you want the cake to come out of the pan rather than serving the cake in the pan, parchment on the bottom is the recommendation!. If you are using a springform pan then you should be able to skip the parchment and still be able to unmold!. The recommendation to butter and lightly dust with flour is a good one (with or without parchment)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes, butter the tin, then sprinkle a small amount of flour and shake it about so it sticks to the butter!. The cake should come out easily when it's done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes, I never use greaseproof paper, just use butter to grease and never have a problem!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
