Easy Beer Bread

1 12oz can or bottle of beer (any type will do, but you can experiment with different styles)

2 cups all-purpose flour

3 T sugar

1 T unsalted butter, melted (optional)

Mix all ingredients together until well combined!. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350° for approximately 25 minutes!. After 25 minutes, pour butter over loaf!. Bake five more minutes!. Remove from oven, let cool, and slice!. Serve with cheddar-chive butter!.

Cheddar-Chive Butter

1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature

1/4 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese

2 T chopped chives

Combine all ingredients!. Serve with beer bread!. Store covered in refrigerator for up to two weeksWww@FoodAQ@Com

Here are two recipes I've tried!
Beer Bread #1 - This is SUPER easy and super tasty

Ingredients:
3 cups self rising flour
1 cup sugar (less to taste!.!. as little as 1/4 cup works)
1 (12oz) can or bottle of beer

Directions:

Mix ingredients and put in ungreased loaf pan!. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour!. A few additions like 1/2 cup of drained black olives (with less sugar) or a tablespoon or two of caraway seeds really makes it more festive!

This one is SUPER easy!. Don't over-mix the flour, and use a lager beer (like budweiser) some beers, like ale or pilsner make an overly floral or bitter loaf!.

Beer bread #2 (for the bread machine)

1 pkg dry yeast
1 cup rye flour
2 1/2 cups bread flour
2 tbsp wheat germ
1 tsp salt
1 cup beer, flat, at room temp
2 tbsp molasses
2 tsp orange rind, grated
6 tsp applesauce, unsweetened
1/4 cup water, lukewarm (about 120 degrees)!.

Place all ingredients into bread machine in order given or as directed in your user's manual!. Select correct bread cycle and press start!.

This one tends to have almost a conflicted sourdough taste to it, but the molasses, orange rind and applesauce all make it more floral and multilayered!. I would try the first recipe as a starter (especially if you don't have a breadmaker!) and go from there! GOOD LUCK!
