Can anyone tell me how to freeze fresh cut okra!

Question: Can anyone tell me how to freeze fresh cut okra
Answers:
just put it in freezer bags, or use a vacum sealerWww@FoodAQ@Com

There are three ways, but the first two are best and done with most success!. number one :Blanch tiny small uncut okra for boiling later in water, cool and freeze!.Number two : cut okra into pieces after they are wiped clean and dust free, slice into sections, about 3/4 inches long,Heat an aluminum stock pot with olive oil, enough to coat each piece of okra, smother or cook them down with desired seasoning, peppers, and or tomatoes if you wish until the finished product is no longer slimy!.During the cooking process you may add water to keep it from sticking or to loosen the okra from the bottom of your pot!. The third way is to just freeze the sections of okra after there cut, but this takes a lot of room in the freezer and it doesn't taste as well when you cook it later!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1) Cut okra
2) Put okra in container
3) Put container in freezer
4) Wait until okra is frozen

Edit:
I suppose I did forget to mention that I just read a novel about the ice age and they froze vegetables by digging a hole in the ground to the permafrost layer, lining the pit with stones, and putting the food in the pit!. So, if you can find a place with a permafrost layer, this is another option!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you want to retain your individual little pieces, place it in a single layer on a cookie sheet (with wax paper or foil under it) and place that in the freezer!. Once they are frozen, place them in zip-lock bags and put in another zip lock bag - be sure to squeeze the air out of each bag!.

I do that with plum halves all the time and it works great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Very easy!. All you do is cut it up or keep it whole, make sure its dry and place it in a heavy duty freezer bag and place it in the freezer!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

personally i think okra is scary it looks like a bunch of little white eyes! but you would freeze it like any other vegetable put it in freezer bags:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put it in freezer bags, squish as much air out as possible, and toss in the freezer!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you plan on frying it, go ahead and shake it in cornmeal before freezing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
