English Tea Muffin Recipe?!
I had this recipe years ago - i made it at least twice a month!. My family loved it!. It was a recipe I got in Home ec!. while in school!.

3/4 c!. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 c!. milk
1/2 tsp!. salt
1/2 c!. butter
3/4 c!. raisins (optional)
2 c!. flour
1/4 tsp!. cinnamon
2 tsp!. baking powder
1/2 c!. nuts, chopped
Brown sugar

* 1/2 cup sugar, plus
* 2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
* 3 teaspoons baking powder (slightly heaping)
* 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup cold butter (no subs!)
* 1/3 cup walnuts, chopped
* 1 egg
* 2/3 cup half-and-half cream or milk
* 1 teaspoon cinnamon
* 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Dir:
1!. Set oven to 400 degrees!.
2!. Line 16 muffin tins with paper liners!.
3!. In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and salt!.
4!. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender!.
5!. Measure out 1/4 cup to add to topping ingredients; set aside!.
6!. Add in the nuts to the flour mixture!.
7!. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and half and half cream, then add to the flour mixture; stir JUST until combined, mixture will be lumpy!.
8!. Spoon into muffin tins about 2/3 full!.
9!. To the reserved 1/4 cup butter mixture add in 1 teaspoon sugar and 2 tablespoons brown sugar; toss to combine!.
10!. Sprinkle the topping mixture over each muffin!.
11!. Bake for 15-20 minutes!.
