Can you make pate - without using butter?!

Question: Can you make pate - without using butter!?
I've never made it before!. The recipe I have calls for a lot of butter - I don't usually eat that much fat!. Is there an alternative way - with a little less fat!. I only bought chicken livers as I thought it would make a 'healthy' meal in some way - but pate or pan fried seem the only options!.

Unless anyone has any other suggestions!. If not - I might try poaching it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've never made it without butter, but in those types of situations I would normally just try it without!. For example - I normally make humous without the large amounts of oil you are supposed to use!!

If I were you I'd give it a go, using a little butter!. I think the worst that will happen is that it will be a different consistency from normal!. Make sure you add lots of garlic!. I love chicken liver pate!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pate has never been a healthy food!. I don't use butter in my Pate but do use lots of fat and sometimes rashers of bacon!.

Don't forget that pate is intended to be eaten in relatively small quantities, so the high fat content is offset by this!. If you poach it, you will sacrifice flavor and will be making a bad pate!. I don't want to diminish your goal of eating healthy!. I'm just pointing out that pate is one of those dishes where I have never found a health conscious recipe!.

Make it right and eat less of it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
