Does anyone know what this kitchen appliance is called?!

Question: Does anyone know what this kitchen appliance is called!?
I've heard people talking about a "hot pot", which is supposed to be similar to an electric kettle, but you can cook noodles and rice in it!. It is neither a crock-pot/slow cooker or a rice cooker!. Does anyone know the real name for this appliance or where I could find one!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I had one of those in college!. It was literally called a "hot pot"!. It was just a sort of like an electric kettle, but doesn't have any fancy thermostats or anything like that!. I'd use it to boil water for coffee, cocoa or noodles but I wouldn't trust it to make rice - not enough heat control!. You can find them at Walmart, KMart, Target or Meijers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It looks kind of like a miniature coffee pot!. (The old type like a percolator) It is used to warm soup and water for tea etc!.
They were much more popular before the days of the microwave!.
I have seen them in the 'dorm' section during the back to school shopping days!. I saw one on close out sale about a week ago at a local Rite Aid!. They have a few electrical appliances, and it was mixed in with them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think this is what you are referring to: http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Hot_pot

As far as getting your hands on the cooking device, this article is especially helpful: http://chinesefood!.about!.com/od/festival!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is basically a counter top gas stove that uses contained gas!. And for the pot part, it's yea, basically a pot!.
