when I am broke I make Ramen noodle stir fry!.
Cook up the Ramen noodles and then throw them in a frying pan, on med heat!. (If you want to u can leave out the packet of seasoning, cus thats just mostly sodium!. But if that doesnt bother u than u can throw em in after the noodles have been cooked) Then I just add anything that I have laying around!. I always cook an egg or two, whites only, over the noodles (for some protien) and then I add whatever veggies or meat I have on hand!. I have used any and all kinds of frozen veggies, fresh spinach, canned corn, mushrooms, turkey and chiken cold cuts, spagetti sauce, ground beef, cruched red peppers, chesse, scallions, cabbage, squash!. I just try to add as many bright and healthy colorful veggies as possible to try and beef up my stir fry!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pulled pork is really cheap!. 10$ for a pork shoulder and it will make 10 dinners!. Getting many different meals from one inexpensive protein is easy and economical!. Braise a pork shoulder and use it in all sorts of preparations: Soup (pozole is my favourite), stew, pulled pork sandwiches with BBQ sauce on a bun, pulled pork with rice and beans, tacos, fajitas, salads, chili, pasta sauce (spaghetti sauce made with pulled pork),
Here's a pozole recipe to try:
1 LB boneless stewing pork, cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups water
2 dried ancho chili peppers, stemmed and seeded
5 cloves garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large yellow onion, diced
2 cups well-drained canned hominy
3 cups chicken or pork stock, or as needed (You can make your own pork stock using the bones from pork cops or the cut of meat you are using for the recipe!. I even get some pork neck bones and use them!. They are ridiculously cheap)!.
Sliced radishes, shredded lettuce, chopped Cilantro, diced yellow onion, corn tortilla chips, diced avocado and lime wedges for garnish
In a saute pan, combine the pork cubes and salt with the water!. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium and simmer gently, uncovered, until barely tender, about 20 minutes!. Remove from the heat and let the pork cool in the liquid!. Drain, reserving the liquid in a bowl!. Set the meat aside, covering it with a damp towel!.
Place the ancho chilies in the reserved warm cooking liquid and let soak for 20 minutes!. Transfer the liquid and chilies to a blender!. Add the garlic and oregano and purée until smooth!. Set aside!.
In a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat, warm the vegetable oil!. Add the onion and sauté until lightly golden, about 10 minutes!. Add the puréed chili mixture, hominy and chicken or pork stock, adding more stock if needed for a more soupy consistency!. Stir in the reserved pork!. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer gently, uncovered, until the pork is fork-tender, about 30 to 60 minutes!. Taste and adjust the seasonings!.
Ladle the stew into warmed shallow bowls!. Arrange the garnishes in small bowls and let guests add to the stew to taste!.
Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Crock Pot cooking usually helps me with time and budget!.
First I try to buy things on sale, but when cooking in a crock pot I can typically use a cheaper piece of meat!.
I make pot roasts frequently!. Ask the butcher for a cheap cut of meat that will still be decent in the crock pot!. Throw in potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion!. Cook all day!. I also like to use the pot roast seasoning to give it more flavor and turn the broth into gravy!. Serve leftovers over white rice!.
Making it into a stew would cost less, since you wouldn't need as much meat!.
Chili is also good!. Don't worry about getting name brand beans, the cheap ones taste fine!.
I make tacos too!.
I can usually make dinner for 4 for about $12!.
