Anyone ever cook beets in the microwave?!

Question: Anyone ever cook beets in the microwave!?
I've pierced them, but they come out really shriveled and it looks as if just murdered something inside the microwave!. There's red beet juice everywhere!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
That happens to me with a baked potato also, the best thing is to put them in a covered casserole with a tiny amount of water, and set the time for 20 minutes at 70-80% power, then test them you will need to cover them!.

I am a former chef and use my microwave for alot of things on my mainly veggie diet, mostly to limit fats and oil!. Microwaves cook from the inside out that is why they sputtered, just like cooking eggs it is the water and internal pressure that cause the problems!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cook beets!?

I've roasted then along with potatoes and jerusalem artichokes (drizzle with oil, salt and pepper, and roast)!.

And I've eaten them raw - grated mixed with grated carrot, drizzled with lemonjuice and a handfull of semidried cranberries!.
