Convection oven - what do I need to know????!
I just bought a new oven with gift cards from our wedding (yeah!!!!) but have never used a convection oven!. I bake a LOT (which is why I bought the convection oven) and have heard you need to adjust times and temps for things when using the convection feature!. I make a lot of cookies, cakes and roasts!. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It does cook faster, and more evenly!. If using a basic recipe that does not mention a conv!. oven (most won't), then reduce your heat by 25oF!. You may need to reduce cooking time by a couple minutes, too, but you'll have to figure that out by trial and error!. Just set timer for a couple minutes shy of the shortest time in the recipe and watch it!.
Oh, and know how you usually reduce a reg!. oven temp by 25o for a glass pan!? Just don't reduce temp by 50oF for being a conv!. oven AND using glass!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
